East Multnomah Soil Water Conservation District Now Accepting Applications for the 2014 Partners in Conservation Grant Cycle:

$550,000 in grant funds is available for conservation projects (or events) that fit one or more of the following categories:

• soil erosion prevention/control
• soil health
• environmental education
• water quality
• water conservation
• watershed health
• habitat restoration

 Funding is only available for projects that take place within District boundaries (Multnomah County east of the Willamette River), or can demonstrate a direct benefit to District residents.

Overlook Sewer Project Construction Impacts

Environmental Services is replacing or repairing about 27,000 feet of aging public sewer pipe in the Overlook neighborhood.

Over 150 North Portland Families are at Risk of Becoming Homeless or are Now Homeless

The Community of Hope will serve homeless single mothers and their children, providing a place to stay, mentoring, classes, support, and an opportunity for spiritual renewal.
